Wrongfully convicted of stealing a famous athlete's sneakers, Stanley Yelnats IV (Shia LeBeouf) is sent to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile detention camp where boys dig holes in search of a hidden treasure.

As Stanley uncovers the camp’s dark history tied to an outlaw named Kissin' Kate Barlow, he befriends a boy named Zero. Together, they break a family curse, work to find the treasure, and expose the camp's corrupt authorities.
