John Sturges directs this 1950s American Western starring William Holden and Eleanor Parker. At the height of the American Civil War, a remote Union outpost in Arizona is ruled over by the fierce Captain Roper ( Holden). With a number of disaffected Confederate prisoners under his charge, his reputation for recapturing escapees, whatever the cost, is sorely tested.
